It was a busy race with plenty of action including safety cars, tire strategy, and overtaking.
Fernando Alonso had a great start to his race but had to fight back up the pack to hang onto the points. Lando Norris had a great race and was able to fend off Sergio Perez to keep second, and Lewis Hamilton managed to get into the points after starting in 18th!

Rain made for an exciting sprint qualifying that saw Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton secure a front row start, and although there was no rain for the sprint race, there was still plenty of action. We saw the Ferraris battling it out for position, Fernando Alonso and Carlos Sainz get into it, and Lando Norris let a chance of a win slip away by the third lap.

In this episode of the I Give An F1 podcast, Allison and Lynnette review the 2024 Formula 1 Japanese Grand Prix, a jam packed race all about strategy and tire management.
Lap one was cut short when Daniel Ricciardo and Alex Albon got into a tangle, both ending up in the wall.
Once the race was back up and running, it was a game of strategy with plenty of overtaking on track and in the pit. Yuki Tsunoda scored a point in his home race, McLaren fell down the ranks, and Mercedes struggled to keep up with the top of the pack.
